Historical Mystery only 99c for Kindle, Nook, and Apple
Editor’s Note: THE VITAL PRINCIPLE is an exciting murder mystery set during the Regency Era in England.
Book Description: Prudence Barnard is a guest at Rosecrest and reluctantly holds a seance for her hostess, despite her host’s hostility to the activity. Unfortunately, after the seance, her host dies and Pru is accused of poisoning him. Desperate to prove her innocence, Pru must find the murderer before he, or she, strikes again.
Author’s Inspiration: I love old gothics, particularly those by Virginia Coffman, and I thought, “What if I combine a gothic feel with a mystery?” In addition, I wanted to play with the idea of a spinster who preferred to prove that ghosts don’t exist, having to hold seances for friends to make ends meet.
Who would play your main character in the movie version of your book? Keira Knightley

My favorite place to write is at our tiny beach cottage. I love gazing out at the gray waves, particularly when I’m struggling with some knotty plot problem. Many times, I have the old television soap opera, Dark Shadows, running in the background to give me some mood “music” and follow the sad adventures of Barnabas Collins and the evil Angelique.
