If you’re in the mood for a good murder mystery to read this weekend, you’re in luck – two great ones are on sale!
DIE FOR ME by Cynthia Eden ($1.99 today) is a novel about Katherine Cole – a woman who is on the run from a serial killer (who happens to also be her ex-fiance). It’s a dark romantic suspense to keep you up all night. Mary Daheim’s novel ALL THE PRETTY HEARSES (also $1.99 today) is the 26th book in the Bed and Breakfast series. It’s more of a comedy mystery than DIE FOR ME, so grab this one if you’re looking for a few hearty laughs along with your suspense.
These deals are good on 4/26.
Neil Gaiman and Ray Bradbury are two of the most famous authors of our time – and for good reason. Both gentlemen have captivated countless readers. When we saw that both authors had books on sale today, we were pretty excited (okay, very excited).
American Gods by Neil Gaiman is an American classic. It’s equal parts mystery, literary, and satire- definitely a book that deserves a special place on your Kindle. Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes deserves a spot, as well – it’s a dark, fantastic tale of a carnival. It’s a modern Gothic that will freak you out and delight you page after page.
These books are $3.99 each on 4/25.
Lisa Jackson and Carol Higgins Clark are two of our favorite literary ladies – and we aren’t alone. Both authors have found comfortable places on the New York Times bestsellers list, and, of course, on our Kindles.
One funny coincidence? Both of these books feature a protagonist named Regan.
Lisa Jackson’s CHOSEN TO DIE, $4.92 today, is a Regan Pescoli detective novel that you’re sure to love. CURSED from Carol Higgins Clark is the story of PI Regan Reilly (it’s $3.79). These deals are good on 4/24.
First it was Eric Amber, then Ian Fleming, now the most lethal espionage mastermind blasts onto the scene. DEAD MAN FALLING is an amazing tale of a James Bond type, Johnny Fedora, who is embroiled in an adventure involving Nazis, missing diamonds, espionage. This thriller will have your heart racing right up to the last page.
Fans of John Le Carre, Frederick Forsyth, and Robert Harris will love DEAD MAN FALLING.
DEAD MAN FALLING was inspired by the author’s driving need to write witty thrillers that involve solving a mystery. Who would play Johnny Fedora? Gerald Butler, of course!

He is soon joined by several other travelers, including a mysterious girl who has driven miles to find him. What secret could she possibly hold, and will Sam live long enough to find out?
Fans of the Walking Dead will enjoy CONTAMINATION : THE ONSET.
CONTAMINATION was inspired by the town of Buford, NY with it’s population of one and the sale of the town by it’s lone resident. Bryan Cranston would make a wonderful Sam Cook.
This is also available on Nook and Apple on April 24th.
I’ve been reading and writing for as long as I can remember. In fact, my mother recalls prying books out of my hands in order to get me to do anything else. For me, writing has always been a natural extension of my life experiences and travels—and I try my best to impart that in my work. My hope is that others get half the enjoyment in reading my books that I get in writing them!
Favorite Instrument: Guitary
Favorite Place to Write: my screened-in porch when it’s nice outside
Favorite Activity: walks in the reservoir
Sandra Brown needs no introduction (but we’ll give you one anyway, just because we like you). She has written 62 (not a typo – sixty two) New York Times bestsellers since she began writing in 1981. Her novels are thrillers at their heart, but often span into romance.
Two of her books are on sale today (lucky you, reader – lucky you). FRENCH SILK is only $1.99 (crazy), and is a romantic suspense. SLOW HEAT IN HEAVEN is $4.74, and is full of complex characters to keep your attention.
These deals are good on 4/23.

A Higher Court is a bestselling legal thriller with spiritual undertones from John Betcher. If you’re a Grisham fan, you’ll love this one!
Here’s what the book is about: his father’s untimely death forces Minneapolis attorney, William Kensey, to confront his Christian faith. Does he really believe the teachings of his Lutheran upbringing? Kensey’s internal conflict becomes his civic duty when he is summoned to serve as a juror in an improbable trial–a trial to determine whether God exists.
If you loved The Shack and CS Lewis, grab this one.

John enjoys playing acoustic guitar and singing in his church’s Worship & Praise band.
Could the newest greatest thing kill you? CELLFIRE is an spellbinding new thriller that will have you finding out the answer to that very question.
CELLFIRE imagines a world where a rogue faction has decided to inflict harm by making smart phones ticking time bombs. There are four supposedly unrelated murders, but soon dots are being connected. Will they be discovered before more people die?
Inspiration for CELLFIRE came from the repeated hysteria among the media, Wall Street and the public each time the smartest phone was rolled out. CELLFIRE’s protagonist would definitely be played by Seymour Hoffman.
Ramlingen dragged Gilbert to a corner console and smashed his face on the metal corner three times. The Indian looked around the room, blood all over the place. He walked over and righted his chair and returned to his task. Hands shaking, a few more key strokes and he was finished. Cellfire was set.
35 years as a newspaper writer/editor makes for a lot of observation. I decided to take and idea for a story and see it through and now there’s CELLFIRE. Although fiction, there is much fact about contemporary life in CELLFIRE.
I enjoy many foods and all kinds of music. I don’t watch much TV, except for very old movies and C-SPAN.
HUNTING THE SNARK is the next installment in the thrilling Alice in Deadland Adventure series. Alice has helped free the people of Wonderland, but what happens when there is another threat? What will she learn when she goes to the land of parents – the United States of America?
HUNTING THE SNARK captivates the reader until the very end and will have you hoping for another adventure down the rabbit hole.
This will be available on April 22nd.
Mainak Dhar is a cubicle dweller by day and author by night. His first “published” work was a stapled collection of Math solutions and poems (he figured nobody would pay for his poems alone) that he sold to his classmates in Grade 7, and spent the proceeds on ice cream and comics. Mainak was a bestselling author in his native India with titles published by major houses like Penguin and Random House and with one of his novels (Herogiri) being made into a major motion picture. In early 2011, he began to use Amazon to reach international readers through his ebooks and became one of the leading independent authors in the world with more than 100,000 books sold in his first year. He has thirteen books to his credit including the bestselling Alice in Deadland trilogy.
Bestselling author, Fern Michaels, Sisterhood is a winner. Get hooked with Deja Vu. Dying to Live is a cozy mystery by new-to-the-scene author Jane Grossman.
ORIGINS centers around Colye, who faces being diagnosed with leukemia. He is placed into an experimental trial after traditional therapies fail. Coyle seems to not only have gotten better, but acquired some amazing abilities. Abilities with which he will have to use to reverse a threat to the entire world.
ORIGINS is a young adult medical thriller with high action that is sure to make the pages fly!
Mr. Tandberg was inspired to write ORIGINS from his days as a medical student. This novel served as a release from the emotions he felt from watching patients and their families through various moments of joy and sadness. If there was a movie made from his book, Logan Lerman or Matt Shively would play Coyle.
This book will be available for $0.99 on April 20.
Tucked deep within my brain and heart grew a desire to write. The path to become a physician kept that desire at bay while I studied and spent many sleepless nights at the hospital. Eventually, it could not be contained any more and out came Origins (The Infusion Series) and Daydreaming Davey, my first novel and children’s book. Now, my time is divided between my family, work, and late night writing sessions. Writing lets me explore my experiences in medicine and share them with everyone who will listen. I live with my supporting wife and kids in the Land of Enchantment.
Favorite food: Pad Thai vs. Buffalo Wings
Favorite place to write: The bedroom (I know, a little odd)
Favorite music: Currently I can’t get enough of Imagine Dragons
Favorite TV Show: Addicted to The Walking Dead
ARCHANGELS: RISE OF THE JESUITS is a pulse-pounding thriller that combines authentic history with riveting suspense of first-rate fiction. When control of the Vatican and its finances is at stake, the devil is in the details, and no one plays fair.
Newly installed Pope Francis is a Jesuit. Could art be imitating real life in ARCHANGELS : RISE OF THE JESUITS or could it be the other way around?
Fans of Dan Brown’s The DaVinci Code will like ARCHANGELS : RISE OF THE JESUITS.
Ms. Tavakoli was inspired to write this novel by real-life murders, intrigue, and scandal surrounding the Vatican hierarchy and the Vatican bank.
This will be available for $3.99 on April 19th.
Janet Tavakoli is an internationally renowned expert, consultant, author and speaker in complex financial products. Her non-fiction finance books are global bestsellers in their respective fields. She brings to fiction her penetrating insights and knowledge of behind the scenes politics and finance to create an exciting and believable blend of fast-moving fiction and headline-making news.
My favorite place to write is on location. My favorite foods are the fresh foods of each season. A fresh ripened peach or apricot can be heaven on a hot summer day. A plate of homemade pasta with vegetables and seafood may be nirvana in winter.

I cannot remember a time in my life when I didn’t want to be a writer. I am sure that there must have been. I think books make us all civilized. At least more civilized. My small contribution to the human experience is very gratifying and I am fortunate to be able to do it.
Favorite Food: Seafood risotto
Favorite Place to Write: I can write anywhere.
Favorite Music: All kinds of blues.
Favorite TV show: MI5
We picked four great deals on spine-tingling novels today: two thrillers and two horror novels.

For the horror picks: we have MILE 81, a $1.99 novel from Stephen King, and DON’T BREATHE A WORD, a haunting supernatural tale. Warning: nightmares may occur after reading. Not for the faint of heart.

In MIND GAMES, prepare yourself to be transported into the mind of psychic Diana Racine and the killer she need to find. This suspense filled novel will have the pages turning as you wait to find out if Diana will be able to outsmart the psychic killer.
Fans of Tami Hoag, Nora Roberts, and Lisa Gardner will like MIND GAMES.
Polly Iyer was inspired to write MIND GAMES from her thoughts about what it would be like to be able to read people’s minds. She pictures Mila Kunis as Diana Racine.
MIND GAMES is available for $0.99 on April 17.
Diana Racine, Fraud of the Century That was the headline in the morning’s Times-Picayune. She’d heard the accusation since she was a child. Charlatan in Miami, carny huckster in Detroit, and a dangerous witch in Boston. Others had called her a hustler, schemer, faker, pretender, gypsy, quack, phony, and scamster. That last was from Vegas. Totally biased reporting there. They were all right. She was a fraud. And a damn good one too. A thirty-three-year old, five-foot-two bundle of fraud. To a point. Well here I am, people of New Orleans. Judge for yourselves.
How many times have readers read a book and thought they could write a better book? That’s what Polly thought after reading a clunker, so she set out to write a book. Was the first book good? Not really. She knew nothing about writing, but she didn’t give up. She took classes, learned what she needed to learn—though not everything—and wrote a second book that was definitely better. Something happened along the way. Polly grew to love the challenge of writing a novel. She studied more, connected with other writers from whom she learned, and became better at her craft. Now, many books later, Polly can’t stop writing. Writing is the most fun she ever had, and she has no intention of stopping.
Favorite Food: Pasta and potatoes, any kind, any day of the week.
Favorite Place to Write: I write in my office and on my bed.
KISS ME OR DIE is a suspenseful thriller with a dash of romance that will have you staying up into the wee hours reading. Richard has been trying to sell the “worst novel ever written” and more and more people are ending up dead. What happens when the love of his life finally shows up?
KISS ME OR DIE is a literary treasure, creepy and cruel, witty, sarcastic, full of dark humor and with an undercurrent of sadness, but, most of all, enormously entertaining with great dialogue.
This will be available for $0.99 on April 17.
I love hearing from you! My writing is a journey of faith and exploration, and I am always willing to tackle the big questions with an open mind and willing spirit. I believe we all have the opportunity to make this world a more beautiful, powerful, and peaceful place by embracing the mysteries and power of our hearts. And I believe the reader (you) is always right. I hope you’ll join me on the journey.
Before Her Eyes by Rebecca Forster is a gripping thriller set in a remote mountain community. Fuzzy Navel by J.A. Konrath follows Lieutenant Jacqueline “Jack” Daniels on her fifth adventure. Both are only 99c today.
What would you do if someone offered you a solution to all of your problems – but you’d turn the world upside down if you did? And what kind of disease is more blessing than curse? It’s called the Eden Plague.
Take yourself on a roller coaster ride in this Crichtonesque thriller – THE EDEN PLAGUE.
David VanDyke was inspired to write EDEN PLAGUE as a new and different twist on all the plague/apocalyptic fiction out there. He wondered what bad things would happen if something amazingly good showed up, and how society would react. David imagines that Jeremy Renner would be Daniel Markis.
This book is also available on Nook and Apple.
He kicked the man under the table, hard, somewhere near his left knee. Jenkins convulsed forward, dropping the cigarette and clutching for the pain, and Daniel reached over, put his left hand on the man’s head and mashed his face into the table. With his right he used the magazine extension of the automatic to grind out the burning cigarette. “Now you owe me for a new tablecloth.”
I’m a retired military officer, and always wanted to write. I’ve told stories all my life, in one form or another, and the idea of a second career where my work, my time and my success are my own is attractive to me. Getting feedback from fans (yes, even the bad stuff) is amazing. I ascribe to JA Konrath’s dictum: “Be Entertaining!” That’s the number 1 rule of writing a good book.
Favorite Place to Write: I write away from others in my household – even my dogs can throw me off track, though I do like my window.
Favorite music : That’s very eclectic, from Metallica to George Winston, from the B-52s to John Denver. It all depends on the mood I want to be in.
Favorite Foods : I do like to eat. Probably Indian foot is my all-time fav.
Favorite TV Show: I guess I could say Firefly. I love stories with twists. Joss Whedon rocks.
